As a contribution to the long-term vision for rural areas, project SHERPA (Sustainable Hub to Engage into Rural Policies with Actors) was set up to incorporate the views of different actors within the science-society-policy community. SHERPA MAPs (Multi-Actor Platforms) held discussions between April and October 2020 to identify challenges and opportunities and how they should move forward up until 2040.
The results will be presented and discussed during the annual conference, which will be held online, between 01 November 2020 to 01 December. The first day will focus on the vision for EU rural areas by 2040 while the second day of the conference will focus on how to engage local actors in the development of a vision for rural areas. The registration is now open.
You can read more about the project on SHERPA’s website.
