The objective of the conference was to brings together researchers and policymakers from European and international institutions, member States, universities, research institutes and consultancies to identify common challenges and solutions when using models to support policymaking across all policy domains. This was the second edition of the conference with further enriched program, compared to its first edition in 2019, to provide additional opportunities of exchange between modellers and policymakers, discussions on modelling challenges to supoort policy decisions, and overview of best practices on the application of models and modelling outcomes by policymakers. The Conference was fully online with 9 different sessions and 5 workshops organized during 22-26 November, and attracted more than 850 registerations. Samaneh Seifollahi, on behalf of the SU team and all COASTAL partners, presented the project and its system dynamics modelling practice for business and policy analysis as a combination of qualitative and quantitative method, with a specific focus on the Swedish MAL3 coastal region.
